The authority is seeking a supplier capable of providing a DNA Parentage Testing Service.

The overarching qualifying standards set for this opportunity are:

To be accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.
To be registered as DNA gatekeeper - having the ability to submit profiles to the National DNA database in order to secure evidence which supports criminal prosecutions.
Comply with the Human Tissue Act 2004, the Human Tissue (Scotland) Act 2006 and the Human Tissue Authority's Code of Practice on Consent.
Comply with the Department of Health's Good Practice Guide on Paternity Services and the Data Protection Act. Additional information: We are hosting a virtual Supplier Engagement Event on Tuesday 28th March 2023 to provide an in-depth overview of our requirements.
