Why no open competition: The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator due to procurement aiming at the creation or acquisition of a unique work of art or artistic performance
Published justification: In alignment with Regulation 32, UKRI STFC have awarded via Single Sourcing Action (SSA) due to compatibility and integration across all cryostats. This would be an increased risk to the facility as awarding to a new supplier would require a rewrite of all integration software at significant cost and time - The cryostats are a critical component in the facility. In addition if these were supplied by a different manufacturer there is a risk the same performance or compatibility between the two beamlines could not be achieved.
