Why no open competition

Published justification

The benefit of using HVTS as the supplier is as follows:

  • Affordable availability of 2nd hand equipment these items are immediately available at half the price of new test equipment which will in turn have a positive effect on timescales and delivery of service.
  • Water terminations will work with the existing water conditioning unit at the test site ensuring continuity in supply.
  • Whilst two pieces of equipment are new, it is more cost effective to include them in this contract, to ensure complete compatibility with existing systems.
