Published requirement description

HES requires specialist mount making services primarily, but not exclusively, for its historic collections held at Properties in Care throughout Scotland. Lot #1The scale of mount making required will vary from site to siteAwardedRenewal

The scale of mount making required will vary from site to site. Some projects may only require one object to be mounted. Larger projects may require over 100 objects to be mounted. Project priorities are fast changing and the mount maker needs to be adaptable to this. The contract requires the Supplier to carry out work both off and on site.

Approximately 25% of Historic Environment Scotland’s collections are comprised of stone, which range in size and weight. When working with these collections, the mount maker may be required to work alongside Historic Environment Scotland’s Applied Conservation and Monument Conservation teams in order to access and move objects. Experience of setting up and using lifting equipment and scaffolding is essential, as is a knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation that covers this type of work.

Delivery: Scotland
Extensions: There will be an option to extend for up to a further 24 months, reviewed annually.Variant bids: not allowed

  • Economic & financial standing

HES use Scotbis, an independent provider of business credit reports, to assess the financial standing of tenderers. The overall aim of this assessment is to ensure, as far as possible, that any potential Supplier will not have financial difficulties that endanger their ability to perform the Contract. If financial information cannot be gained from that source Historic Environment Scotland will request that you provide full audited accounts for the last full financial year. If Suppliers cannot provide any of the assurances as detailed above, and it is determined by HES that your financial strength is not adequate, then your company may not pass the financial evaluation. If you can provide the assurances as detailed above, HES may explore these options with you before determining whether your company can be taken forward in this procurement exercise. Bank details may also be sought to support the above

  • Price carries 40 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 4 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.

Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
