Published justification

The FCDO's current Movement of Personal Effects contract runs from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Authority's re-procurement project was unavoidably delayed.

The Authority is therefore exceptionally concluding a further 12 month extension of the contract up to 31 August 2022.

The Authority's extension was in in line with Public Contract Regulation 72(1)(c). This regulation permits an extension to a contract where:

  • The reasons for the extension could not have been reasonably foreseen (or caused) by the Authority;
  • The overall nature of the contract remains unchanged.
  • The increase in price does not exceed 50% of the original contract value.

All of these criteria have been met.

The Authority has already commenced the re-procurement project for the replacement contract, including supplier engagement sessions in Spring/Summer 2021.

The Authority's new opportunity is advertised at:

www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/f613e0a1-cf0e… ↗

The Authority would be pleased to discuss this extension or the long term re-procurement opportunity with any interested suppliers.
