Official UK procurement notice
Supply of Ballast · UK public procurement notice
Authority: Translink (Central government)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionTranslink owns, operates and maintains the rail network in Northern Ireland comprising circa 300 miles of plain line track and 200 sets of switches and crossings. We wish to establish a multi-Supplier Framework for the supply of railway ballast to support the delivery of Translink’s programme of capital and maintenance works. The framework will initially run for 4 years with options to extend up to a maximum of a further 4 years.
The intention is for a number of geographic zones to be established across the Northern Ireland Railway network, with a Primary and Secondary Supplier appointed for each zone. Suppliers may be appointed to multiple zones. The default approach will be to allocate work directly to a Primary Supplier. The Client may also run mini-competitions between all Suppliers on the Framework for larger work packages if required.
The project team have set aside some dates over the next 3 to 4 weeks to engage with those interested parties with proven tracked record in the supply of aggregate to railway standards.
If this is of interest please response to Linda Brown contact details linda.brown@translink.co.uk to arrange a suitable date and time to engage with the Translink project team.
