The UK has a current supplier who provides the services required to enable the continued tracking and tracing of tobacco products manufactured in or imported into the UK. HMRC have a contract to deliver this system until 30/06/22 and will run a procurement exercise to ensure a system is in operation from 01/07/22. The intention is to award a 5 year agreement.

Other services may be required as we continue to define the requirements during the tender process. Additional information: Suppliers interested in this opportunity will be invited to virtually attend a supplier event on 14th June 1pm - 3pm. At this event, there will be a presentation providing an overview of the requirements and HMRC's procurement plan. There will also be opportunity for follow up questions. The event will help potential bidders understand the complex technical requirements for providing a UK tobacco traceability system. Input from attendees will also help HMRC set out the detailed requirements in the technical specification and other documents.
