Direct Payment Support Service · London Borough of Camden (Aug 2021)
Authority: London Borough of Camden (Local council)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionDirect payments (DP) are monetary payments made to individuals to meet some or all of their eligible care and support needs. They provide independence, choice and control by enabling people to commission their own care and support in order to meet the outcomes agreed in their support plan. The guidance for the use of DP is set out within the Care Act 2014 and each local authority must ensure that people are given relevant and timely information about DP and are supported to use and manage the payment appropriately. The commissioned Direct Payments Support Service (DPSS) will work in partnership with the Council to ensure that those adults, young people, parents and carers eligible for DP have the information and support they need to utilise their DP effectively and in a way that offers greater choice and control.
