Published requirement descriptionWokingham Borough Council are inviting tenders for the provision of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC). It is Wokingham's vision to establish an integrated women's health hub. The commissioner and provider/s will work collaboratively to support opportunities to enhance the options available to residents. These will be discussed with the successful provider post-contract award. LARC is the first step of this plan, and the successful provider will be expected to play a key role in developing this vision in partnership with the contract commissioner.

Contraception can be required by many different individuals in our community. This service specification refers to “individuals” which includes all women, transgender and non-binary people with female reproductive organs.
The national Women’s Health Strategy emphasises the importance of increasing access to and choice of contraception, including Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), for all individuals, and improving their experiences including during fitting and removal of an intrauterine device (IUD), intrauterine system (IUS), or contraceptive implants for initial of 2 years period
