North Tyneside Council secured a total of £5.7 million jointly funded by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) and North Tyneside Council to deliver the start-up programme from March 2009 to December 2021. The objectives were to increase the number of local residents exploring enterprise and self employment as a viable career option and increase the number of people starting up in business. A further £0.9 million has been applied for to extend the project from 1st January 2022 to 30 June 2023.
