- Published justification
The requirement is for the supply of obsolete spare parts and associated modifications for the Wellman Booth (WB) crane. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Wellman Booth, retains the intellectual property rights, technical design authority, and detailed engineering information relating to the crane and its components.
Due to the age and specialist nature of the equipment, the required spare parts are obsolete and are not readily available through the wider market. Wellman Booth is the only supplier able to provide OEM-approved replacement parts that are fully compatible with the existing crane configuration and compliant with the relevant design, safety, and performance standards.
This procurement is in accordance with PA23, Schedule 5, Paragraph 5.
