Published requirement description

Adult Weight Management Service especially for population groups and communities with a higher prevalence of overweight and obesity.

The objectives of the service are to:

Promote and support weight loss, or prevent further excess weight gain, among service users living with overweight or obesity.
Support service users to achieve the Chief Medical Officer’s physical activity recommendations and reduce sedentary behaviour.
Support service users to develop healthier eating habits and learn about healthy balanced meals.
Support service users to develop strategies and self-regulatory skills to overcome challenges and self-manage weight maintenance goals.
Provide a flexible offer which is service user led, individualised and culturally competent.
