What is being bought

Published requirement description

The University of Sheffield is refreshing Its laptop computers and consolidating down to a standard set of laptops for use within the university. The refresh program is expected to replace approximately 500 laptops over the next 12 months in addition to the standard bau purchasing, approximately 1300 over the last calendar year.

IT Services provides a centrally managed desktop called "University Desktop" which is the University's recommend computing platform for most needs. In addition a centrally semi-managed desktop called "YoYo" is offered to allow more flexibility where this is required.

Last year, the decision has was made to move to a subset of models offered by a single manufacturer for desktop and "all-in-one" computers for use with the University Desktop. We will be continuing to do this this year.
