At Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC), we are committed to ensuring that children and young people receive the best services and interventions, in a proportionate and timely manner. In line with our commitment to the children we work with, and statutory duties, their voice and direct contribution to their meetings and planning is crucial and central to the work we deliver. Brighter Futures for Children has a statutory duty under the Children Act 1989 to provide Independent Advocacy and Independent Visitor Services to children who are looked after by the Local Authority. Furthermore the 2018 ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ guidance also outlines that an advocate be available for children subject to a Child Protection Plan (CP) or a Child In Need (ChIN). The current advocacy contract is coming to an end in December 2023. The lifetime value of the contract is £300, 000, the contract term will be 3 years with an option to extend by a further 2 years.
