How this framework works
From the published notice- Type

- call-offs may be awarded directly or by further competition
- Places
- up to 4 suppliers
- Framework period
5 yrs · up to 8 yrs from 1 Mar 2027, An eight-year framework term is proposed to provide long-term supply chain stability and value for money in the delivery of escalator PLC upgrades and maintenance. The framework will operate for an initial five-year period, with the option to extend for up to a further three years. This duration aligns with the long-term nature of asset renewal programmes, allowing sufficient time for suppliers to invest in specialist capability, technology, and resources while maintaining continuity of service. The extended term supports the efficient delivery of both CAPEX-funded upgrade projects and ongoing OPEX maintenance activities, reducing procurement disruption and ensuring consistent technical standards across the asset base. Furthermore, the framework provides flexibility to respond to increasing asset renewal demand, minimising supply chain risk and securing access to critical expertise and components throughout the lifecycle of the programme.

- Price carries 40 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 4 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.
- “Escalator Programmable Logic Controllers, Drives, inverters and…” is a framework: the contest is a place on its panel, up to 4 suppliers, not a single contract: call-offs may be direct or by further competition.
Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
