What is being bought

Published requirement description

East Sussex County Council (The Council) invites bids from suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver Coroner Removals Services.

Services are for the removal of bodies in the County of East Sussex where a death has been referred to H.M. Coroner within the East Sussex Coroner Area.

Contractor's attendants must have an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check conducted and approved.

The contract will be for Three (3) years with option to extend for up to twenty-four (24) months.

As this is a demand led service the Council is unable to give any assurances as to the number of occasions and the time of day on which the services of the Contractor will be required. The Council therefore expects the Contractor to have sufficient operational resources to provide cover within the timescales for the area(s) for which they have responsibility, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

  • The authority expects to re-tender this requirement around 17 Sept 2031, 23:59 BST.

Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
