To setup and establish laboratory services and personnel capable of:i) assessing and validating the technical performance of supplied testing equipment (i.e. Products) using a Private Testing Validation Group (PTVG) defined protocol and against an agreed Comparator Assay; andii) documenting findings into a standardised report to feed back to the PTVG.

1.6 An Accelerated time limit has been selected by the Authority due to a state of urgency, since Her Majesty's Government (HMG) has only committed to provide COVID-19 Lateral Flow tests on a universal offer basis up to 30 June 2021. Therefore, there is a need to have independent validation of COVID-19 test products in place urgently, so that employers and members of the public can have confidence in them, prior to these products being made available on the open market.
