The lotProcurement structure
single lot · no lot value publishedLot #1The current Dan Y Deri building is no longer fit for purposeAwarded
The current Dan Y Deri building is no longer fit for purpose. Its environment makes it challenging to meet the needs of people living with a learning disability and needs related to offending behaviour, mental illness and, particularly those diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Welsh Government are funding the Dan Y Deri New Build Challenging Behaviour Unit (CBU) scheme which will provide a closer to home, modern and medium-term, fit for purpose healthcare facility for individuals with identified complex needs and behaviour that challenge, reducing health inequalities. The new building will maximise patient and staff safety and meet the complexities and challenging risk behaviour of the population through a safe, ergonomic design of the accommodation.
The construction will improve patient care, by investing in specialist facilities for individuals with complex learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and co-morbid conditions.
The Capital Planning Department does not possess the in-house NEC4 Supervisory expertise required to undertake these services and therefore requires external support from professional consultants.
It is proposed that DRAC are appointed via the Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA) for Professional Services.
