What is being bought

Published requirement description

Manchester City Council is looking to appoint a framework for the provision of maintenance for open brook courses and trash screens.

CPV: Construction work for water projects

How this framework works

From the published notice
Type
Closed framework
Call-offs
call-offs are awarded directly to appointed suppliers, without further competition
Places
up to 2 suppliers · 2 appointed (full)
Framework period
3 yrs · up to 4 yrs from 1 Apr 2026
Published description of the framework

The framework will operate as a multi-supplier framework agreement with two appointed contractors.

Call-off contracts will be awarded without further competition. For each requirement, the Council will apply the pricing schedule submitted at tender stage to the relevant quantities of work to identify the lowest priced supplier. The supplier offering the lowest price will be contacted to confirm their availability to deliver the works.

Where the lowest priced supplier is unable to undertake the works, the Council will approach the next lowest priced supplier, and so on until a supplier is confirmed.

What this means for your bid
  • Price carries 40 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 4 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.
  • “Open Brook Courses and Trash Screens Maintenance” is a framework: the contest is a place on its panel, up to 2 suppliers, not a single contract, and call-offs are awarded directly: getting appointed is the whole game.

Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
