What is being bought

Published requirement description

Conwy County Borough Council (the “Authority”) intends to procure a contract for the transportation of waste and recyclable materials from its waste management facilities to designated disposal and recycling sites. The Authority proposes to award a contract for an initial period of five (5) years, with the option to extend for a further two (2) years, to the successful supplier(s) (the “Service Provider”).

  • The authority expects to re-tender this requirement around 1 Sept 2032, 23:59 BST.
  • No preliminary market engagement: A Preliminary Market Engagement Notice was not published as the haulage requirement is well understood, the market is established and competitive and the Council has sufficient market knowledge to proceed directly to tender. Formal market engagement was therefore considered disproportionate and unlikely to influence the procurement approach or deliver additional value.
