Lots and requirements (2)Procurement structure
2 lots · all with a published value (£95,000 together) · same evaluation weights on every lotLot #1An instrument for Quantification of Aviation Fuel Surface Tension, in conformity with ASTM D1331AwardedPublished value£35,000
As a non-specification property, surface tension is a relatively-rarely-measured property that is relevant to fuel atomization in gas turbine combustors (as are viscosity and density). SAF-IC is looking to buy an automated instrument for surface tension quantification in conformity with ASTM D1331, for the UK aviation fuel-clearing house. Additional information: Funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Lot #2A mid-range Infrared spectroscopy device for aviation fuel application, in conformity with ASTM D1655; ASTM D7797; ASTM D7963, and IP 583AwardedPublished value£60,000
SAF-IC is looking to buy an automated mid-range Infrared Spectroscopy, in the range of approximately 4000-400 cm-1. This is for identification of functional groups in aviation fuels, for the UK aviation fuel-clearing house. Additional information: Funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

Published award criteria (2)
- Quality: 70
- Price: 30
- Price carries 30 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 3 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.
Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
