Provision of School Catering Services for Nascot Wood Schools
Authority: Nascot Wood Junior School (Education)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionNascot Wood Schools invite tenders from suitably qualified catering providers for the provision of school catering services.
The schools are seeking a catering partner that can provide high-quality, nutritious meals, excellent customer service, value for money, and a positive dining experience for pupils and staff.
The proposed contract term is three years commencing on 5th January 2027, with the option to extend for a further period of two years by mutual agreement.
Total number of children is approximately 420 and the service will include full lunch service plus breakfast and afterschool club provsions.
TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) is anticipated to apply to this contract, and relevant anonymised staffing data will be made available to shortlisted bidders upon signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- Not divided into lots: The contract has not been divided into lots because the catering service requires unified operational management, shared kitchen infrastructure, and a single, cohesive staffing structure under TUPE. Dividing the requirements into separate lots would result in operational inefficiencies, duplication of management overheads, and conflicting use of school kitchen facilities. Delivering the service as a single contract ensures optimal value for money, consistency in nutritional standards, and a seamless dining experience across all school provisions.
- The authority expects to re-tender this requirement around 13 Jul 2031, 23:59 BST.
- No preliminary market engagement: A preliminary market engagement notice was not published due to time constraints and the fact that the school catering supply market is mature, highly competitive, and well-understood by the contracting authority. Prior dialogue was limited to high-level market familiarity and has not influenced the evaluation criteria or specifications. All information is published equally to all potential bidders via this Open Procedure.
