Why no open competition: Additional Repeat Extension Partial Replacement
Published justification: Tidyco provides specialist hydraulic and pneumatic components and associated repair and overhaul services used across GWR's existing rolling stock fleet and depot equipment. Continuity of the existing supply and repair arrangements is required to maintain compatibility with existing equipment and avoid disproportionate technical difficulties, additional engineering assessment, testing, cost and potential disruption to fleet maintenance.
The direct award will provide an interim contractual arrangement while GWR undertakes a competitive tendering exercise for the longer-term requirement.
