The service required of the Structural Engineer will be to develop the detailed planning stage information in to a structurally engineered detailed design delivering 393 new homes in two Parcels (Parcels 1.1, 1.2) and if confirmed by the Authority, a third parcel (Parcel 1.3) for a further 110 new homes, which will be subject to a separate detailed planning application.

During both the main contract tender processes for the main contractor(s) and the construction stage the Structural Engineer will be retained by the Authority to carry out a compliance checking service and respond to Structural Engineering design and site queries.

A main contractor will be appointed on a design and build basis for each parcel. Due to speed of delivery Parcel 1.1 may be operated by the main contractor across two outlets.

Extensions: There will be an option within this procurement (to be exercised at EBC's sole discretion) for a further parcel (Parcel 1.3) of 110 new homes, which will be subject to a separate detailed planning application. The character, typology and density will be similar to that of Parcel 1.2. The estimated value of this is £90,000.00 which is included within the estimated value at 11.1.5Variant bids: not allowed

What this means for your bid
  • Price carries 100 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 10 points. This one is won on the number: sharpen the price before polishing the prose.

Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
