Vision and Framework for Sustainable Data Centre Development in London
Authority: Transport for London (Public body)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe Greater London Authority (GLA) requires a specialist multidisciplinary consultancy team to produce an evidence-based Vision and Framework for Sustainable Data Centre Development in London. The commission supports the Mayor's ambition for London to lead on sustainable data centre growth and will inform the emerging London Plan policy position on data centres, giving the GLA, London boroughs, infrastructure providers and the data centre sector a shared evidence base and a practical framework for decision-making.
The supplier will deliver five stages: an evidence base and baseline assessment of London's data centre sector, its infrastructure and utility constraints, regulatory context and market dynamics; co-development with the GLA and stakeholders of a shared vision, principles and value framework; assessment and prioritisation of sustainability interventions and development pathways covering energy, water, heat reuse, land and circularity; mechanisms to capture local economic, social and community value; and an illustrative sustainable data centre cluster archetype with a Delivery Roadmap, presented in a final report with technical appendices
